Salvatore A. Abbate, Chief Executive Officer

Salvatore A. Abbate is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Veritiv Corporation (NYSE: VRTV). Based in Atlanta, GA, Veritiv is a leading North American business-to-business distribution solutions company.

Previously, Sal served as Chief Operating Officer for Veritiv from January 2020 until September 2020 and as Chief Commercial Officer for Veritiv from April 2018 until December 2019.

Prior to that, Sal served as Senior Vice President, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for Andersen Windows & Doors, Inc., a leading North American window and door manufacturer, from July 2013 to March 2018. From September 2011 to June 2013, Sal served as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Andersen. Prior to that, Sal served as Vice-President, Global Sales and Marketing for the performance films division of Solutia, Inc., a performance materials and specialty chemical provider which is now part of the Eastman Chemical Company. Sal began his career at Armstrong World Industries, where he spent 15 years in all three of their business units in various roles including sales, marketing, manufacturing and process improvement. Sal has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles in strategy, marketing, sales, distribution, customer service, logistics, manufacturing, and process improvement and earned a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma.

Sal serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Board of Directors for ArcBest (Nasdaq: ARCB), a leading logistics company. Previously, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest from 2012 to 2018. During his tenure there he served as Chair of the Marketing Committee and was a member of the Executive Committee.

Sal has a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Dean A. Adelman, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Dean serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Veritiv. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s HR strategies, policies and initiatives, and oversight of Corporate Communications.

Prior to joining Veritiv in March 2019, Dean was Chief Human Resources Officer at Caraustar, an Atlanta-based manufacturer of recycled materials. Previously, he was Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President – Human Resources for Axiall Corporation, a chemical and building products manufacturer. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Administrative Officer for BlueLinx Corporation, a North American building products distributor.

Dean also held Human Resources leadership positions at Corrections Corporation of America and Arby’s Restaurant Group. He began his career as a lawyer, and spent seven years as Senior Counsel – Employment/HR for Georgia- Pacific Corporation.

Dean holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Daniel B. Calderwood, Senior Vice President, Facility Solutions, Digital, and Marketing

Dan Calderwood serves as Senior Vice President – Facility Solutions, Digital, and Marketing for Veritiv. In this role, Dan and his team focus on the ongoing growth strategy for the company's Facility Solutions business as well as advancing the digital commerce strategy across all segments.

Dan previously served as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Management where he was responsible for creating and implementing marketing, category management, inventory management, and strategic sourcing strategies to drive growth for Veritiv’s Packaging and Facility Solutions businesses.

Prior to joining Veritiv in May 2019, Dan spent seven years at Tempur+Sealy in marketing leadership roles for the company’s Sealy, Stearns & Foster, and Cocoon brands. He was Vice President of Marketing for the Sealy Portfolio where he had general management responsibility for this business. While in this role, Dan led the commercial transformation that propelled Sealy to number one in market share (from number three) while growing profit at a faster rate than sales. Dan also spent 10 years at the Kohler Company in product management, national accounts, and sales roles in both the retail and commercial markets.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Business Management from Trinity University in Illinois, and an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Eric J. Guerin, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Eric Guerin serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Veritiv. In this role, he is responsible for managing the company’s financial reporting, financial reporting and analysis, tax, treasury, internal audit, and investor relations functions.

Prior to joining Veritiv in January 2023, Eric served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CDK Global, a formerly publicly traded provider of retail technology and software-as-a-service solutions. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years in finance leadership roles at other publicly traded companies including Corning Incorporated, Flowserve Corporation, Novartis, and Johnson & Johnson.

He also serves as a Director on the board of Skyworks Solutions, Inc. and was a Director of Natus Medical, Inc. prior to it being acquired in 2022.

Eric is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a M.B.A. in Executive Management from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from College of Staten Island, NY.

Stephanie E. Mayerle, Senior Vice President, Sales

Stephanie Mayerle serves as Senior Vice President – Sales for Veritiv. In this role, Stephanie oversees sales, customer service and sales support. In addition, she also oversees Veritiv’s Global Packaging Design organization. With the combination of our world-class Sales team and our highly skilled and creative Design team, Veritiv is a powerful force in the market. Stephanie's team is focused on growing market presence and customer satisfaction in our Packaging and Facility Solutions businesses.

Stephanie joined Veritiv in May 2020 from Andersen Windows where she spent 20 years in a broad range of commercial operations leadership roles including sales, marketing, project management, customer service, supply chain, and manufacturing quality.

At Andersen, she was Senior Director – Strategic Accounts and Inside Sales, accountable for 1,000 national account locations and 1,200 independent dealer locations. Prior to that, she held roles as Senior Director – Business Management, Senior Director – Customer and Sales Operations, and Director – Customer Experience. Stephanie began her career at Andersen Windows as an engineer implementing the Lean Six Sigma methodology across customer touchpoints.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.

Karen K. Renner, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Karen Renner serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Veritiv. In this role, she is responsible for the company’s Information Technology (IT) strategy and policies supporting Veritiv’s operations and staff.

Prior to joining Veritiv in November 2020, Karen was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for CommScope, Inc., a global network infrastructure provider. She was responsible for IT, information security and business transformation.

Karen also held CIO positions at aerospace-defense supplier Thales, aluminum producer Novelis, and she spent more than 20 years at General Electric, where she led IT for the company’s security and digital energy businesses.

For more than five years, Karen has been a member of the Board of Lenbrook, a not-for-profit senior community in Atlanta, GA. She currently serves on the Finance Committee and the Development Committee.

Karen received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University, and an MBA from Georgia State University.

Susan B. Salyer, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Susan serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Veritiv. In this role, she has responsibility for the company’s legal and corporate security teams as well as compliance and sustainability oversight functions. She leads the corporate Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Global Trade Compliance, and Risk Management functions as well as leading our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within her sustainability function.

Susan previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance and Sustainability Officer. She joined Veritiv in 2012 and has held a variety of legal and compliance roles including serving as Assistant General Counsel.

Prior to joining Veritiv, she served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for National Lending Associates, Inc. from 2008 to 2010, and Associate General Counsel for Student Loan Xpress, Inc. from 2004 to 2007, both education loan financing companies. Previously, Susan worked for Thompson Hine LLP, and she began her career at a large regional law firm focusing on mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate finance.

Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and earned her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Peter C. Troup, Vice President, Corporate Development

Peter Troup serves as Vice President, Corporate Development of Veritiv. In this role, Peter is responsible for leading the company’s inorganic growth strategy including the evaluation and execution of acquisitions. He led the All American Containers (AAC) acquisition in 2017. In addition, Peter leads special projects and assists with overall strategic planning for Veritiv.

Prior to joining Veritiv in 2016, Peter served as a Managing Director with EVE Partners, LLC, a boutique investment bank focused exclusively on the transportation and logistics industry. Prior to joining EVE in 2007, Peter served as a Senior Associate with KPMG’s Transaction Services group. Prior to KPMG, Peter held various roles in financial services firms.

Peter received his bachelor’s degree in economics with financial application from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Michael D. Walkenhorst, Senior Vice President, Packaging and Global Operations

Mike Walkenhorst is currently serving as Senior Vice President – Packaging and Global Operations at Veritiv. In this role, Mike is responsible for the Packaging business including Category Management, Rigid Packaging, Kitting, Veritiv Mexico, and Veritiv International Packaging, as well as leading our global operations, including all Veritiv distribution centers and transportation services.

Mike previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Operations and Developing Businesses where he was responsible for overseeing global operations as well as leading Veritiv’s unique, value-added services segments. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director for All American Containers, a Veritiv company. He also served previously as General Manager for Veritiv’s West Central Territory from July 2014 to August 2017 where he was responsible for sales and supply chain operations for the company’s Print, Packaging and Facility Solutions businesses.

Mike joined xpedx, a legacy Veritiv company, in 2003 as a Sales Professional. Over the past 15 years, he has held a variety of positions in Sales and Sales Management.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree in business management and an MBA from the University of Utah.
